Local Service Projects

We pride ourselves on integrating our membership with the community, seeking out needs and developing solutions. Here is a sampling of some projects we’ve done or are doing locally.

Sleep Cubbies Project

This is a project that started in 2022/2023 when President Jay Murphy introduced a multi-year large scale project that our club is supporting, both financially and via volunteers.  The project has grown to where it is now its own 501.c.3 called Sleep Cubbies, Inc.  Please click HERE to see details of the project.

Halloween Books Instead of Candy Project

This project began in 2010 when the Encanto Palmcroft neighborhood decided that it would be better to provide books to young kids rather than candy.  Each year, they distribute roughly 4000 books to about 2000 kids on Halloween night.  They block off the street, and volunteers from Rotary Interact Clubs, Rotaract Clubs, and Rotary Clubs all volunteer by helping the kids pick out books of interest.  Please join us on Halloween night.  Contact Jay Murphy.

Serve Bright and Early: Mobile Food Pantry at St. Luke’s

For almost 15 years, Phoenix Rotary 100 has proudly supported food distribution at St. Luke's at the Mountain Church —and we’re still going strong! It’s an early start (yes, 5:30 - 8 am), but for the families we serve, it makes a world of difference. Rain or shine, every 2nd and 4th Saturday, volunteers are needed to help distribute food and bring hope to our community.

This effort is in partnership with St. Mary's Food Bank, whose mobile delivery service brings essential groceries to sites like St. Luke’s. Come join us and start your morning with purpose!

Location: 848 E. Dobbins Road, Phoenix
Dates: 2nd & 4th Saturdays | Time: 5:30–8:00 AM
